Nelson School of Music offers lessons in guitar, piano, trumpet, and violin. We educate students on theory, technique, and a variety of styles, from classical to the blues. Whether you are experienced or a new comer, we strive to bring out the potential in every student.

Lessons typically take place at the student's home, but can also be held at Instructor Gregg Nelson's home studio, where there are many high quality instruments and plenty of room for both individual and group lessons.

Gregg studied violin at the University of Nebraska and Rice University with some of the country's most respected teachers. He has years of knowledge and experience as a violin player and instructor.

In college, Gregg majored in trumpet, and it was his instrument of choice as a preforming musician. He has played trumpet in orchestras, swing, and rock ’n’ roll bands.

Meet Gregg Nelson and Nelson School Of Music

Passing down the passion of music, one student at a time.

Gregg's philosophy as a teacher is that music is essential to the creation of the “whole person," and that through music we improve all around. In addition, a background playing a musical instrument greatly enhances a person's appreciation of the fine arts, which is a lifelong gift Gregg believes everyone should receive.

Private music lessons have been shown to improve the quality of a student's performance in public and private school bands and orchestras, and a number of Mr. Nelson's students play in such groups within the Conroe Independent School District.

Gregg is one of the longest standing private music instructors in The Woodlands, TX area, and brings decades of experience to each and every student.
