Violin and the other Strings

The teaching process is tailored to the individuality, goals and schedule of each student. Private lessons can be started at any time and piano and violin lessons as early as age five.

Private music lessons are designed to meet the musical needs of each student and are arranged on a weekly basis for 30, 60, or 90 minute periods. Although the appropriate age for a child to begin private music lessons depends on the maturity of the child, The Nelson School of Music feels most children are ready to benefit from private instruction as early as the age of five. Each year, one recital is scheduled for the students. Students are encouraged to share their music, and, thus, gain a broad musical experience. The Nelson School of Music believes strongly that recitals provide excellent motivation for students to make use of when they are perfecting and performing their pieces.
